Why OSF?

I believe OSF has all the opportunities that I have been looking forward to in a residency program. They have an open learning environment and have preceptors who enjoy teaching residents and are very supportive in their learning.

Why OSF?

Location: Rockford Illinois is where I grew up and will always be home to me. Being a Rockford native, I have been familiar with OSF my whole life. I also have family in healthcare and I would come go to the hospitals in the area a lot with my dad growing up. I have always really enjoyed OSF.

Rotations: OSF had rotations and electives that I really wanted exposure in.

Interactions: I really enjoyed everyone I met and spoke with when interviewing and during my conversation with the booth at midyear.

Teaching certification: I really love teaching and hope to be a preceptor for students one day so being able to do a teaching certificate was something I really wanted.

Mission: OSF’s mission closely aligns with my own personal values. Also, as a religious person, I really enjoy the Catholic nature of the hospital and the opportunity to be able to attend weekend masses at the Hospital.

Community: As I mentioned before, I grew up in Rockford and it would mean a lot to me to be able to give back to the community that I feel has done so much for me and always felt like home.
