All volunteers should consider the risks and benefits before deciding to participate in research. We encourage volunteers to discuss potential risks and benefits with friends, family, and/or healthcare professionals.
Potential risks for volunteers:

There may be serious, unpleasant, or even life-threatening side-effects

The experimental treatment may not be effective

Participation in a study may require more time and effort including trips to the study site, more treatments, hospital stays, or complex dosage requirements
Potential benefits for volunteers:

Play an active role in your own health and/or the advancement of healthcare
