Visiting a Patient

Visiting Hours

At this time, your family and friends are discouraged from visiting to reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, when needed, only one adult visitor at a time is allowed in the hospital. General visiting hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Special visiting hours are established for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Please call (815) 876-2287 for more information. Quiet times (no visitors) will be shared when you call.

After Hours Entrance

The following is a list of main entrances and their hours of open access.  Outside of these hours, access is limited to the Emergency Department/Outpatient Registration Entrance.

5th Street Entrance (main entrance)
  Closed
  Drive-thru services only

Medical Office Building Entrance (north building / specialty physician clinics)
  Monday through Friday:  6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Emergency Department / Outpatient Registration Entrance (west entrance)
  Open 24/7. 

Intensive Care Unit Visitation Guidelines

At OSF Saint Clare, we are grateful for the opportunity to care for the needs of each patient. We ask you to be an active partner in the care of your friend or loved one by following these guidelines:

  • Call ahead at (815) 876-2287 before visiting an ICU patient.
  • Please only allow two visitors at a time when visiting.
  • Visitors who have a contagious illness, such as a cold or fever, must refrain from visiting until symptoms have subsided.
  • Sleeper chairs are provided to accommodate one family member to stay over with a child or seriously ill patient
