Nutritional Counseling

Practical solutions for healthy living

Research tells us that living a healthy lifestyle plays a key role in fighting against and helping to prevent some of the major leading causes of death, such as heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes. However, there is an excessive amount of nutrition and lifestyle-related messages being thrown at us each day through TV, advertisements, social media and the internet.

These messages are causing food to become an object of frustration. At OSF Saint Clare, we have registered dietitians and experts in food and nutrition that can provide you a one-on-one consultation to answer any of your nutrition-related questions.

Our dietitians use evidence-based, medical nutrition therapy to personally create an individual nutrition plan specifically for you. We aim to lead you on the road to making healthy lifestyle changes and achieving your personal goals.

What is Medical Nutrition Therapy?

Ashley Kannenberg, Registered Dietitian and Nutritional Counselor Medical Nutrition Therapy is a personalized approach to treating certain medical conditions and their associated symptoms by utilizing a specifically planned diet that will be monitored by your physician or a registered dietitian.

What is a registered dietitian?

Registered dietitians are nutrition experts with degrees in nutrition, dietetics, public health and related fields from respected, accredited universities.

They must also complete a supervised internship administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, pass a national credential exam and earn ongoing professional education credits to maintain certification.
