OSF Diabetes Care
Diabetes is not as simple as do not eat sugar. It is a complex disease that if not controlled can have serious life changing complications. A person can’t control diabetes if they don’t understand it.
OSF Diabetes Care at OSF Holy Family offers a comprehensive program designed for the patient newly diagnosed with diabetes or for someone who needs a refresher course in the basics of managing diabetes.
The American Diabetes Association recognizes this educational service as meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education
Our compassionate team members, consisting of registered nurses and a licensed dietitian, all of whom are Certified Diabetic Educators and are trained to help patients and families understand what diabetes is, the goals of good diabetes management, and how medications, diet and exercise are used to help manage the disease.
Location & Hours
The Diabetes Care office is located in the new Rehabilitation and Specialty Clinics Wing on the north side of OSF Holy Family Medical Center. To access this wing please use the driveway on the west side of OSF Holy Family Medical Center and continue around to the north side of the building.
Staff is available 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with evening hours until 7 p.m. on Thursday.
