Frequently Asked Questions
Our behavioral health navigators are an excellent source of information if you have a question that is not answered below.
To contact a navigator, please call (309) 308-8150 during regular business hours.
How do I make an appointment?
To find a service or provider, contact our behavioral health navigators.
They can connect you with the appropriate service and answer any questions you have about getting started.
Do I need a referral?
While you can seek counseling without a referral, some services such as psychiatry require referral from a physician or other medical professional.
Talk with your primary care doctor, or any other medical or mental health professional, for more information.
If you need help getting an evaluation or referral, reach out to our behavioral health navigators.
How much will my treatment cost?
At OSF HealthCare, we are able to bill your insurance for your visit, but cannot guarantee coverage.
We encourage all patients to check with their insurance provider on coverage before proceeding with treatment.
Can you make me “better?”
Seeking treatment is an important step toward taking control of your mental and emotional help.
At OSF HealthCare, we have multiple avenues for treatment as well as a collaborative team and support to help you find the service and provider that’s right for you.
While there is no easy “fix” for mental health issues, we are committed to understanding what’s causing your issues and helping you find a solution.
How long will treatment last?
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental and emotional health. Your treatment plan will be specific to you and your current situation.
For some, treatment may last several weeks, for others several months. And for some people, managing their mental health may be an ongoing issue throughout their lifetime.
Talk with your provider to understand your short- and long-term treatment plan.
