Programs & Services

Based in Peoria, Illinois, Almost Home Kids provides care to children from newborn to age 21 who have a variety of diagnoses.

Our children are most often dependent on medical technology such as ventilators, feeding tubes or central lines.

Because every child is unique, Almost Home Kids provides in-house physical therapy, speech therapy, nutrition consultations and child life specialists.

Transitional Care

Almost Home Kids is a bridge from hospital to home.

Transitional care is a program for children with medical complexities who are medically stable and ready to leave the hospital. However, families need some extra time to make preparations for their children’s return home.

In a comforting environment, children receive 24-hour medical support from skilled pediatric nurses.

Training for Families

Almost Home Kids provides education on how to best care for children with complex medical needs.

When families receive appropriate training for their children’s conditions, it significantly reduces or eliminates the need to return to the hospital.
